The Toronto Lam Shee Ho Tong completed its election for a new board of directors last month and, on September 27, held the inauguration ceremony for the new board, a general meeting of all members and a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at its hall. Gordon Lam was elected chair and executive director for a third term.
The new board for 2026–2028 has 17 members. The list of members and positions is as follows: Gordon Lam (chair and executive director), Li An (vice-chair), Jie Lin (vice-chair and assistant public relations), Ruo Tao (chair of the board of directors), Ai Zhu (financial controller), Dong Qiang (treasurer), Jin Zhu (general affairs), Wei Ran (public relations and assistant general affairs), Yin Quan (assistant general affairs), Yu Tang (assistant public relations), Jian Quan (secretary-general and assistant public relations), Yan Qing (Chinese secretary), Zi Xian (English secretary), Ru Han (assistant Chinese secretary), Yao Ji (assistant English secretary and assistant public relations), Mrs. Yue Ang and Mu Juan.
The Toronto Lam Shee Ho Tong was founded in 1920. For more than a century it has upheld its purpose of strengthening ties among clan members, while actively promoting youth development and encouraging a new generation to take part in the association’s affairs and serve the community. This year the association awarded more than $8,000 in scholarships to encourage young clan members to study hard and strive for progress.
This year’s Lam Shee Ho Tong Christmas celebration will be held at the hall on Saturday, December 12. Clan members of the Lam family are welcome to register. Those interested may email lsht.tor@gmail.com for information and to register.
